And Why They’re Worth Every Penny

There are a lot of baby products out there promising to make life easier—and as a mom of two under two, I’ve probably bought most of them at 2am while rocking a baby and Googling “how to survive no sleep.”
Some items? Total flops. Others? I’m still using them daily, even now that we’ve graduated from the newborn haze into the “someone is always sticky” phase.
Whether you’re a fellow mom in the thick of it, a first-time mama-to-be, or shopping for a baby shower gift that won’t get returned, these 10 items are truly ride-or-die for me!
1. Hatch Rest Sound Machine
At this point, I’d rather lose WiFi than lose our Hatch. It plays white noise during day or night, doubles as a soft nightlight, and now works as a toddler sleep cue, too. Bonus, you can put it outside the bedroom to keep your toddler from waking up the baby!
Still using it because: If the Hatch is on, we get a great nap in.

2. Skip Hop Changing Pad
Not just cute—it’s practical. This wipeable changing pad is genius for quick cleanups, doesn’t soak in smells, and works perfectly on any dresser. Minimalist look, maximum functionality.
Still using it because: I don’t have time to be washing pad covers every other day. This one’s always ready.

3. OXO Weighted Baby Wipes Dispenser
Why do wipe containers fly around like haunted objects when you’re one-handed? This one stays PUT. The weighted top means you can grab one wipe at a time (even while holding a wriggling baby like a football).
Still using it because: The little things matter—especially when those things are poop-related.

4. Mushie Silicone Bibs
Catches the food. Rinses clean. Doesn’t smell like sour yogurt. Comes in colors that don’t offend your kitchen aesthetic. Bless you, Mushie.
Still using it because: Toddlers are basically food fountains with limbs.

5. BubblePanda Sleep Sacks
Soft, cozy, and way more affordable than the fancy brands. They hold up in the wash (a miracle) and zip from the bottom for those half-asleep diaper changes. I opt for the one with legs!
Still using it because: Warm baby = longer naps = happy mom.

6. Little Remedies Nasal Saline Mist
Snot. So much snot. This gentle mist works better than drops and actually gets things moving. I use it constantly during teething, colds, and allergy season.
Still using it because: If you know, you know. 🫠

7. Ubbi Diaper Pail
No weird bags. No stink. No drama. And yes, it actually looks good. The stainless steel helps trap odor better than plastic (IYKYK). I rarely have to buy more bags even with two kids, and theres a bonus lock on top.
Still using it because: I have enough smells in my house, thank you.

8. Ultra Absorbent Burp Cloths
I once thought 4 burp cloths were enough. Rookie mistake. These are soft, oversized, and double as impromptu face wipes, changing pads, drool rags—you get it. They are also much most absorbent than the muslin ones. Definitely opt for these! They are a game changer.
Still using them because: My laundry pile doesn’t stand a chance without them.

9. Oilogic Stuffy Nose & Cough Relief Bath
A warm bath + this gentle essential oil blend = instant relief for a congested babe. It smells spa-worthy and doesn’t irritate sensitive skin.
Still using it because: It’s like aromatherapy for both of us.

10. The First Years Newborn to Toddler Tub
The mesh sling was perfect for the baby days, my baby was calm and content and enjoyed every minute of bath time!
Still using it because: It doubles as a toddler tub.

🎁 Bonus: Shopping for a Mom-to-Be?
All of these are truly useful, which is code for “she’ll actually use it more than once.”
If you want to be the MVP gift-giver, skip the cutesy stuff and grab something from this list.
Pair it with an DoorDash giftcard and a handwritten note 💕
❤️ Final Thoughts
There’s a lot of noise in the baby product world, but these are the things I keep reaching for—day after day, baby after baby. They’ve survived blowouts, growth spurts, teething, and toddlerhood… and so have I (barely 🤣).
If you found this list helpful, I’d love for you to share it with a fellow mama—or bookmark it for later. And if you have any baby item you still swear by, let me know in the comments. Let’s help each other survive this beautiful chaos. 💪💕
