If you’ve got two under two, you know the struggle is real. Between diaper changes, snack times, and toddler mood swings that rival Hollywood drama, finding toys that keep both littles happy, engaged, and learning is worth its weight in gold.

Over the past couple of years, I’ve tested more toys than I’d like to admit (my living room looks like a small daycare), and these are my absolute must-haves. They’re mom-approved, kid-loved, and perfect for little hands — plus they grow with your kids from babyhood to toddlerhood.

1. Busy Boards – Sensory & Fine Motor Heaven

Busy Board – These keep my toddlers occupied during car rides, quiet time, or when I just need five minutes to drink my coffee while it’s still hot. Buttons, buckles, zippers, and switches help fine motor skills while giving them that “big kid” feeling.

2. Kinetic Sand – Messy Play That’s Kind Of Clean

Kinetic Sand Set – The magical sand that sticks to itself (but not your carpet) is my rainy-day lifesaver. It’s perfect for sensory play, creativity, and calming busy little minds. I use a shallow bin to keep it contained.

3. Play-Doh – Classic, Colorful Fun

Play-Doh 36-Pack – It’s a classic for a reason. My kids can squish, roll, and cut for ages. Pro tip: set them up at the table with silicone baking mats for easy cleanup.

4. Cozy Coupe – The First Ride They’ll Love

Little Tikes Cozy Coupe – This iconic ride-on is practically a toddler rite of passage. My older one zooms around while my younger just likes sitting in it pretending to drive.

5. Toddler Scooter – For Balance & Coordination

Micro Scooter – My favorite way to burn off that endless toddler energy. The adjustable handlebar and seat means it grows with them, this one is a family favorite and goes from 12 months to 5 years old!

6. Water Table – Outdoor Fun for Hours

Step2 Rain Showers Water Table – Summer must-have! Pouring, scooping, and splashing keep both kids entertained, and it’s easy to clean and store.

7. Stacking Cups – Simple, Portable, Perfect

Stacking & Nesting Cups – They may seem basic, but trust me, these go from bath toy to beach bucket to snack holder in a heartbeat. Perfect for travel, too.

8. Foam Climbing Blocks – Indoor Energy Busters

Soft Foam Climbing Set – On rainy days, this is my secret weapon. The kids climb, slide, and build obstacle courses, all while burning energy safely indoors.

9. Wooden Shape Sorter – Early Learning Essential

Melissa & Doug Shape Sorter – Helps with shapes, colors, and problem-solving while giving little hands something satisfying to do. Bonus: wood lasts longer than plastic.

10. Teepee Tent – A comfy cozy place to bond and hang out.

Teepee Tent – Fill this cozy tent up with fairy lights, books and stuffies and you may wonder where your kids have disappeared to! (don’t worry, they are just in the teepee)

Why These Toys Work for Two Under Two

When you have littles so close in age, the sweet spot is toys they can share and grow into. These picks encourage open-ended play, skill development, and sibling interaction (and occasionally give you a minute to scroll Instagram in peace).

I keep a small toy rotation so they don’t get bored, and I mix active toys with quiet ones so I can balance our days between chaos and calm.

Momma Tip: Pair these toys with a big basket or cubby system so cleanup is fast!
